Linkin's science lab - Zombies

From the movie Resident Evil
Introduction

As my lab has already used zombie testers (of which one was recently lost due to tests involving a portal gun) I've had plenty of time to study these very diverse creatures.

The creatures

There are certain characteristics that seem to recur among zombies:
- They are usually formed from deceased animals, including humans, that have been exposed to a certain parasite. The disease is often transmitted through bite wounds.
- The host's brain activity is considerably reduced, when exposed to the disease.
- Their favorite food seems to be human flesh or brain tissue, which is likely the reason behind their hostility towards humans.

The zombies used for my experiments are all classic "slow-walking" zombies, since these are the most common type of zombie, they're relatively easy to train and they're easy to run from, should they decide that getting cut to pieces during experiments is not their idea of living (what is an employer to do?).
Other types of zombies that I have not chosen include but are not limited to "fast-paced" zombies, exploding zombies, tentacle zombies and alien "zombies". These zombies are often less compliant and a lot more difficult to handle not to mention capture (On that note, I'm now hiring new hunters!).

Experiments

By using a combination of hunger suppressing and cognitive inducing drugs I've discovered that it is possible to teach zombies to follow simple commands and do mundane tasks, without having to use amputated arms as bait (which are surprisingly difficult to get your hands on!). On that note, one should not get too close to zombies on this treatment, unless one wants to commit to science until more... unlucky and inevitable circumstances occur. One should also be prepared for a radical change in appearance and behavior.
Zombies don't seem to experience pain as humans do, however they aren't exactly enthusiastic about losing limbs in the name of science, although they don't have much choice in this matter.

Speculations

Is it possible to transfer the endurance of zombies to normal people without inducing their cannibalistic habits and lack of brain activity? As I've yet to see a sick zombie, other than their characteristic "zombie disease", is it possible that their cells are able to heal cancer, HIV, heart disease among others? And possibly the most important question, is it possible to create full grown zombies from single cells, as it is becoming increasingly difficult to acquire new test zombies? I'll have to research more on the last part and put up more job ads in the meantime. Accidents at workplaces can be quite beneficial!
