Death Note, one of my all time favorite animes!

Found at: https://amazonaws.com

In the realm of the death gods shinigamis steals humans lives in order to prolong their own. A shinigami named Ryuk is bored of the life without purpose and therefore "drops" his death note in the human realm in order to spice things up. The death note is discovered by the prodigy high school student Light Yagami, who is at first frightened of it's power to take lives, but quickly gets intoxicated by the thought of becoming "God of a world cleansed of evil" and uses the notebook to punish criminals. The police discovers the sudden increase in deaths of criminals and gets contacted by a mysterious investigator called only by the letter "L". L quickly gets on Light Yagami's tail and a mind game of lives unravels between the two. L who wants to prove Light's as the true "Kira", nicknamed by people who agrees with his ideas of a clean world, and Light who wants to discover L's true identity, which allows him to be killed by the death note.

The first season of the anime is absolutely breath taking and should be seen by anyone, who is even remotely interested in anime! The anime contains plenty of plot twists, strong emotions and it's near impossible not to watch just ONE more episode before bedtime!

Am I awake or still dreaming? - Alan Wake

A question that comes to mind more than once in the thrilling psychological horror game Alan Wake!

Found at: https://www.trueachievements.com
What better way to get away from the stressful life of a famous book author than to take a vacation to a cabin on a small island in the middle of a lake? That's what Alan Wake thought, but when his wife is kidnapped his peaceful vacation turns into one of his own horrifying horror stories.

The story is beautifully told with lots of interesting mindtricking events, clues of what is soon to happen and the question whether Alan Wake is experiencing reality, is actually asleep or smacked into a mindtwisting mix of the two with shadows crawling behind every corner and window.

In the game you are armed with a flashlight, which you must weaken the shadows of dead people with in order to kill them with your lowly supplied revolver and the will to save your loved one. The shadows only come out at dark, so most of the game is taking place during the night. All in all, a very psychedelic and exciting horror game that I can absolutely recommend! Can be found on Steam!

Soar through the sky in War Thunder!

While this is a game that I havn't spend the most time on, it has kept me entertained for several hours and is brilliant to play with your friends (up to three at a time). And it's free to play!
Found at: https://warthunder.com
The game is for the most part about flying aircrafts during 2nd world war against other players, but there's also a tank version of the game, should this be of more interest to the player. I find the flying part the most interesting though.

The first thing that struck me was, "Isn't a flying pvp difficult to play as heck without heatseeking missiles and whatnot?!". And the answer is "No, it isn't". The creators of the game have made it fairly easy to learn without it being boringly easy (a tutorial also exists within the game). Each battle starts with you moving towards a target, usually a neutral or enemy airfield that needs to be captured or destroyed. Most aircrafts use machine guns as their primary weapon and a crosshair shows you how to lean the target, so that the bullets will hit, when you aim for this crosshair. The aircrafts have several weak points, such as the gas container, the wings, the engine etc, where hitting this points each have an effect. For example, hitting the gas container will usually set the plane on fire and it will quickly lose fuel until it cannot fly anymore. And oh the feeling you get, when you see an enemy aircraft drop to the ground in flames and then explode! Complete your mission or simply destroy all enemy aircrafts and you will stand victorious in the end!

Playing a game will earn you research points, which can be used to research new and more powerful aircrafts, such as bombers or heavy fighters. The planes that you can unlock depend on which nation you choose to play. You can play Germany, Japan, Britain, USA and USSR. Each aircraft can also be thoroughly examined by the player in the main menu, seeing its weak points, components, crew positions and more. The main menu is also the place, where you set up your fleet or aircrafts used for the next skirmish or campaign, which should often comprise on different types or aircrafts, so that you are prepared for different missions, whether you need to bomb an enemy airfield or shoot down enemy planes.

If this has inspired you to start soaring through the virtual skyes, which I hope, you can find the game at https://warthunder.com/en

An underrated oldie, Puzzle Pirates!

This is a game that has had a huge impact on my life, my relations and experiences. While a lot of gamers avoid this game due to it's childish look, it is actually one of the most well developed games I've ever encountered. The game is called Puzzle Pirates!

Found at http://www.puzzlepirates.com/

Puzzle Pirates is a free Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), where all your actions impact other players' gaming experience. The main object of the game is to sail the seven seas in player owned ships. The captain of the ship hires other players onto his ship and together they pillage brigands and barbarians (bots). In order for the pillage to be successful, each player on the ship needs to take on a role. One repairs the ship, another catches the wind with the sails and a third reloads the cannons. Each role has its own puzzle that needs to be solved successfully, for example a unique version of tetris, a type of jigsaw puzzle and more. It is also possible to hunt ghost ships, atlanteans and more, which rewards the participants with unique loot that can either be used or be taken home.

The most interesting and unique aspect of the game in my opinion is the fact that almost everything is player controlled. The islands, where players can buy houses and purchase items, are controlled by other players that have conquered these islands. The shoppes are owned by other players that earn a profit from selling items and the raw materials needed to create the items are bought either from other players or bidded on at markets with other shopowners as competitors.

Unfortunately this is a game that has lost most of it's players in the past few years, which I think is a shame, because it is a game that has a lot to offer. Whether you just want to relax and chat with other people of very different nations over a game of cards or want to make a name for yourself as a notorious captain, a merchant with ties to every part of the ocean or even a king with an island or two within your grasp.

The game contains a lot more material than what I've mentioned here, so if you're interested in giving the game a chance, you can either download an application to your desktop or just play the game from your browser at www.puzzlepirates.com
